5 - Day Itinerary

Start: Tangier | End: Ouarzazate or Marrakech

Day 1

You will be greeted warmly at the Tangier airport or your accommodation, one of the Tangier ports, as your Tangier desert adventure lasts 5 days. There to welcome you and help you along the way will be your friendly local guide.

 

We will next go to Chefchaouen, a charming hamlet tucked away in northern Morocco’s stunning Rif Mountains. You will be free to explore the city and its famous blue-painted streets after checking into your cozy hotel or riad. Chefchaouen is well-known for its distinctive blue-washed buildings, which create a charming scene. You may relax at one of the welcoming cafés and restaurants serving real Moroccan food, stroll slowly through the winding lanes, or explore the bustling markets.

Day 2

As you get ready for an enchanted journey to Fes, start your day with a delicious breakfast at your riad.

A competent local guide will meet you when you arrive in Fes and be ready to show you the city’s attractions. Take in the breathtaking architecture, stroll down its ancient streets, and become engrossed in its fascinating past. You might choose to have a delectable lunch in the vibrant Medina, where you can take in the genuine tastes and scents of regional food.

Relax at a quaint riad in the center of Fes Medina after an exciting day of exploration. You can find a peaceful haven in the middle of the bustling metropolis. Spend some time unwinding and enjoying Fes’ charms while spending the night in your comfortable riad.

Day 3

We shall start an amazing desert journey after a delicious breakfast at your Fes riad. We will go south toward Merzouga, the location of the enchanted Erg Chebbi dunes. We will make a stop in the charming city of Ifrane along the journey, where you may unwind and enjoy the natural splendor.

After crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains, we will continue driving and halt at a cedar grove. Barbary apes can be seen in their native environment here. After that, we’ll eat a filling lunch at a restaurant along the way to make sure you’re ready for the remainder of the trip.

We will go into the captivating Ziz Valley, which is well-known for its verdant palm tree oasis. Before you reach the desert, you will have a chance to take in the breathtaking scenery.

We will reach the desert in the afternoon, where your real camel caravan adventure will begin. Riding your camel over Erg Chebbi’s enchanted sand dunes, you may pause to take in the stunning sunset from a high dune, making for a very unique experience.

After continuing your camel ride, you will reach an opulent camp. You will be shown to your personal tent for rest and refreshment when you arrive. Savor a delicious supper including regional cuisine as the evening wears on. The camp crew will provide you with exciting drumming and traditional Berber music as you gather around a warm bonfire under the stars. To add even more fun to the evening’s celebrations, you may even try your hand at playing the drums.

Day 4

It is strongly advised to get up early in order to witness the breathtaking dawn over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. You may take a camel ride or board a 4×4 vehicle to travel to Merzouga after a filling breakfast. Your driver/guide will be prepared to take you to Dades Valley for the next part of your trip.

If this leg comes on a market day, such as Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday, you will have the opportunity to visit interesting locations, such as the lively market in Rissani. Enjoy stunning views of the Todra River while enjoying a leisurely stroll through the magnificent Todra Gorge.

Get ready to be mesmerized by the remarkable rock formations known as monkey fingers as we make our way towards Dades Gorge. Before you reach your overnight lodging, you may enjoy expansive views of the Gorges from the picturesque journey down Dades Valley. Relax in style in a quaint hotel, guaranteeing a good night’s sleep.

Day 5

Our first destination on the final day of your 5 days desert tour from Tangier will be Ouarzazate, sometimes referred to as the “Gateway to the Desert” and also referred to as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Atlas Studios, Morocco’s biggest film studio, is one of your options. It’s an opportunity to see famous film sets and gain insight into the filming process.

We will go to Ait Ben Haddou after touring the studios. Here, you may take a tour of the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has been featured in a number of movies, including “Prince of Persia” and “The Mummy.” Spend some time admiring this ancient site’s intricate architecture and lavish embellishments.

After a delicious lunch, we will travel across the magnificent High Atlas Mountains. Savor the stunning views of the surroundings as you go.

Optional drop-off in Ouarzazate or return toward Marrakesh

Day 6

Spend your first full day in Marrakech exploring its vibrant sights. Visit the Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque, and stroll through the Jemaa el-Fnaa square. In the evening, enjoy a cooking class or food tasting tour, preparing classic Moroccan dishes like zaalouk or chicken with preserved lemon.

7 - Day Itinerary Extension

Day 7

Escape the city for a refreshing day trip to the Ourika Valley, set in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Visit a Berber home, see local women making argan oil, and hike to the Setti Fatma waterfalls. Enjoy lunch riverside or at a mountain café before returning to Marrakech.

8 - Day Itinerary Extension

Day 8

Travel to the coastal town of Essaouira, known for its blue-and-white medina, relaxed atmosphere, and vibrant arts scene. Explore the Skala ramparts, fish market, and artisan woodshops. Optional visit to a women's argan cooperative en route. Enjoy grilled seafood at the harbor.

9 - Day Itinerary Extension

Day 9

Travel west through green farmland to the Atlantic coast. Stop in El Jadida to see the Portuguese cistern and ramparts, then continue to Essaouira, the relaxed port town known for its arts scene, seafood, and sea breeze.

10 - Day Itinerary Extension

Day 10

Spend your final day walking the ramparts, shopping for handmade souvenirs, or relaxing at the beach.
